Environmental pollution has reached alarmingly epidemic proportions. The environment is thoroughly contaminated by dangerous chemicals and heavy metals. Billions of pounds of toxic chemical are dumped into our air and water every year. Because the earth is a closed ecosystem, the worst effects can occur thousand of miles away from the source.
Toxic particles can work their way into our bodies through food, air and skin. When you eat, you ingest toxins from pesticides, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. When you breathe, you ingest toxins from pollution. When you touch things, chemical residue enters your pores. All of these can contribute to respiratory damage, heat disease and cancer.
Most homes are toxic because clothing, cookware, carpets, furniture are routinely coated with dangerous chemicals. Cleaning products, construction materials, dental fillings and medical vaccinations all contribute to toxic overload.
Poison and heavy metals in the environment don't necessarily pose an immediate threat (unless you are super sensitive). The hidden danger comes from accumulation. It's not one particular chemical or metal you need to worry about, it's being constantly exposed to a myriad of toxins that can build up in the body. When this happens, your natural disposal systems become overload, your organs become effected, and your immune system can get overwhelmed.

All following are though to be caused by or exacerbated by toxins:
Alopecia (hair loss and baldness)Accelerated agingAlzheimer Disease AnemiaArthritis AtherosclerosisAttention Deficit Disorder (ADD) AutismBirth defects Brain damageBronchitis Cancer (all)Cardiovascular disease CataractsCerebrovascular disease Chronic fatigueCirrhosis of the liver Colitis convulsions DementiaDiabetes Displaced CorneaDNA damage Encephalopaty (brain disease)Fetal Distress FibromyalgiaGenital Abnormalities GoutHeart attack Heart DiseaseHepatitis High blood pressureImmune System disorder Inhibition of LymphocytesT-cells and Monocytes Kidney damage and disorderliver damage and disease Lou Gehrig's DiseaseLupus Mental retardation Miscarriage Multiple SclerosisNeuropathy or Neuritis OsteoarthritisOsteoporosis Parkinson's DiseasePneumonia Reproductive DysfunctionRenal Toxicity Spontaneous AbortionStroke Seizure
Since it's virtually impossible to avoid toxins in today's modern world, it's critical that we do everything we can to quickly remove them from our bodies and minimize the damage they can do.
Detoxification can help in two ways. First, the high fiber content helps to remove toxins through safe and speedy elimination. It also "scrubs' the intestinal walls to get rid of putrefying waste that can block nutrients absorption and poison your system.
Secondly, the potent antioxidants and nutraceutical found in detoxification help to combat the damaging free radicals that toxin produce

Research has shown that Alpha Lipoic Acid is good for cleansing the liver of chemical poisons. German Physicians have been using Alpha Lipoic Acid since the 1960s to threat Diabetic polyneuropahty and Liver Cirrhosis. The treatment was later extended to heavy metal intoxification, toxic mushroom poisoning and oxygen related disease. Alpha lipoic Acid is believed to be a good metal chelator because of its easy absorption into the intracellular environment and its stability to complex metals that were previously bound to other sulfhydryl proteins. It is know to chelate (bind and remove) mercury, cadmium and lead.
Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous and Inositol Hexaphosphate (IP6) are also known to act as heavy metal chelator.
